Tom Means -- Chairman
Tom Means is a graduate of USC and a prominent health insurance agent in Ventura and Los Angeles counties. He resides in Westlake Village and is an active supporter within the community. His involvement reaches beyond Hopes Haven, having taken part in a variety of awareness programs, fundraising and advocacy efforts, including the Boys and Girls Club of Camarillo, Cedars Sinai Sports Spectacular, Avon Breast Cancer and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Tom’s enthusiasm and knack for bringing people together make him an essential asset to Hopes Haven.
Michael Fortini -- Vice Chairman
Michael Fortini is a lifelong resident of Ventura County, graduating from Adolfo Camarillo High School. He is a firefighter for the L.A. City Fire Department. Michael was fortunate to marry his high school sweetheart and has three children, Isabella (7), Michael (5) and Ethan (3). In his spare time he coaches A.Y.S.O and Camarillo Girls Softall. He enjoys surfing and time with his family. In addition to his chairman role with Hopes Haven, Michael is proud to be at the forefront of patient & family advocacy.
Ricky Helland -- Treasurer
Ricky Helland is an MBA graduate of USC and an established finance professional working for local companies such as Amgen, Aerovironment, Medtronic, and currently working for Harbor Freight Tools. He resides in Thousand Oaks with his wife and two young sons. His family wants to give back to the community and have made it a priority to make a difference in the lives of young children. Ricky’s financial experience and desire to teach his kids the gift of giving make him an essential asset to the Hopes Haven cause.
Steve Lee - Advisory Board Liaison
Steve Lee is Managing Partner of Steve Lee & Associates, LLC, a litigation and management consulting firm. Lee serves on the Board of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Foundation and also on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of the Conejo Valley. He is a long-time resident within Ventura County.
Ian Corzine - General Counsel
Ian Corzine is Managing partner of West Corzine, LLP in Camarillo, focusing his practice on complex insurance coverage and litigation cases. He obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from University of California, Davis. Ian resides in Ventura County and enjoys snowboarding and working out in his off time.
Cristina Markiewicz -- Junior Committee Chair
Cristina Markiewicz works for Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate Brokerage in Westlake Village as a Realtor in Ventura County. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology as well as her master’s degree in Business Administration from California Lutheran University. Cristina has volunteered with many organizations in our community including Los Robles Medical Center, Habitat For Humanity, Heal the Bay, California Lutheran University Community Leaders Association, Manna, and the World Health Organization. In 2012, she started and chaired the first annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life at California Lutheran University. Her volunteer and charitable efforts are a testament to the passion she has for helping others.

Monica Mills -- Founder
Monica has been an advocate and fundraiser for multiple charities over the past seven years, including the Avon Walk, Leukemia & Lymphomia Society, The Desi Geestman Foundation and most importantly, as a volunteer wish granter for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. She has hosted several children’s events, including Evening With the Stars and Touched by a Star. She is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara, having thereafter obtained her Masters in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute. She established Hopes Haven in an effort to touch more lives of those in troubled times, understanding that her own life has been a blessed one.
